Taking down and rebuilding walls that have shifted, using the original materials where possible on a corrected base.
When block or stone walls shift but the units are still in good shape, rebuilding can be a smart solution. We take the wall down, fix the base, drainage and backfill and then reset the same units into a straight, tight wall. Homeowners in Nashville often save material and time this way compared with full replacement.
We begin with a Free Estimate and a look at the units, the cause of movement and the amount of material that can be reused. We number and stack the units, excavate failed backfill, rebuild the base with compacted gravel, add drains and reinforcement and reset the wall course by course. We replace damaged pieces, add new caps if needed and finish with clean backfill and grading. We check each course for level, alignment and setback. Resetting a wall is also an opportunity to improve it. Because the units are off the wall, we can look at how they performed, add or replace pins and caps, install better filter fabric and increase the thickness of the drainage zone. We can even adjust the layout slightly to improve the line or add a step or a curve. Many owners are surprised by how much better a reset wall looks and works compared with the original.
Sound units go back into the wall, which can reduce material needs.
The foundation and drainage are rebuilt to correct the original cause.
Grid or additional structure can be added while the wall is open.
Courses are reset level and aligned for a clean look.

You tell us what is wrong or what you want to build, and we set a visit that fits your day.
We walk the site, measure heights and lengths, look at soil and water paths and talk through what you want the space to do.
You receive a plain written scope with materials, drainage, engineering needs and the schedule before work begins.
We locate utilities, stake the wall line, excavate and build a compacted base that will carry the wall.
We build the wall course by course, add reinforcement as designed, install drains and place and compact clean backfill.
We add caps, steps and planting, clean up, restore the site and walk through the finished wall with you.
Walls made of stackable units often can. Poured walls cannot.
Reusing the same units keeps the color and texture consistent.
Rebuilding reuses sound material, while replacement uses new material.
Taller walls need design review and may need engineering.
It depends on the size, but resets are often faster than new builds of the same length.
